Banana Squares

I have made this twice and each time it gets rave reviews.  Of course, it contains 2 cups sugar in the cake and 4 cups confectioners sugar in the frosting!  Lots of sugar but oh so delicious.

FROSTED BANANA BARS
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups mashed ripe banana (about 3)
Pinch of salt
Frosting (see below)

In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.  Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix
well.  Pour into a greased 15 in x 10 in x 1-in baking pan.  Bake at 350
for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean (it takes less time on my oven)
Cool.  Frost.  Makes about 3 dozen

FROSTING:
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
4 cups confectioners sugar
2 tsps vanilla
Cream butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl.  Gradually add confectioners'
sugar and vanilla.  Beat well.  Spread over bars.
